Famigos: when your friends become your family
Our Famigos friends family is HUGE and it just keeps growing! The name "Famigos" came from a group of friends who have seen each other through the best and worst times in their lives. It's friends like these who are always there for us, no matter where our travels have taken us. As individuals, our group of Famigos have always been more on the adventurous side, the side my fiancé Jason (or J, as his friends know him) and I most often find ourselves on. Famigos Retreats was born out of my own wanderlust, and J's adventurous soul, which was just waiting to emerge!
My solo trips in college and living abroad, lead me to meet the first of many like minded new friends, most from places I've never been before. I made many of my travel buddies in the hostels I stayed in, or on tours I took. It didn't take long to fall in love with the community living and group vibe. After studying abroad in Costa Rica for two summers while , working on my bachelors in education, I decided I would make the Pura Vida vibe part of my everyday life. So, on a whim, I moved to the beach town of Jaco, Costa Rica!
It was there I made even more lifelong travel buddies and True Famigos. One of these amazing buddies, is now the owner and creator of The Ashram Hostel in Tamarindo, and where the first year of Famigos Retreats was hosted! Thanks Leo, we love you brother!
Costa Rica is the place that keeps pulling me back. Although it seems full circle to be working with the country I fell in love with 17 years ago, if it weren't for all the phenomenal friends I've met along the way, I know this circle would not have landed me where I am right now. I am now forunate enough to be able to share my love for all things travel, with my amazing fiancé and our growing group of True Famigos.
Through Famigos Retreats, our team of Famigos are all able to share our collective passions for adventure, travel, yoga, surf and all the new experiences...the best experiences Costa Rica has to offer. Experiences I know you'll all love and cherish just as much as we do.
Thank you to all our True Famigos. We'll see you in Costa friends!!

Peace, Much Love, & Pura Vida,
